Prof. Ujjwal K Chowdhury
Prof. Ujjwal K Chowdhury is currently the Pro Vice Chancellor & Dean, School of Media, Communication & Fashion, Adamas University, Kolkata.
He is a leading media and communication academic of India, having been earlier the Dean of Media of Symbiosis (Pune) and Amity (Mumbai) Universities, Whistling Woods International (Mumbai), and Pearl Academy of Delhi and Mumbai. He is known for his convergent approach to media education starting from an integrated broad base leading to focused specialization at the top. He is a known face on TV studio debates and a regular writer in Indian media. He had earlier been employed with Business India TV, Zee News, Times of India Group, WHO Media, et al.
Rajiv Bali
Rajiv Bali is a Fellow Chartered Accountant from India and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of New Zealand. He also holds an MBA degree with dual specialisations in Human Resources & Marketing from the Institute of Management Studies, affiliated to Los Angeles City University, USA.
He started off initially in the engineering profession (BITS, Pilani – 1st year) but changed over to commerce and management. He honed his skills at Price Waterhouse and in a career spanning over 40 years, he has held various senior positions, including CEO/MD/Country Head/VP/ED in numerous assignments, in a wide spectrum of industries (consultancy, audit, banking, advertising, hospitality, travel & tourism, footwear manufacturing & accessories, dental healthcare, education, FMCG, large diversified businesses, iron & steel manufacturing, kraft paper manufacturing, agriculture/ethanol/bio-energy), in different Business houses/Diversified Conglomerates/MNCs/Crown Entity/Parastatals, straddling a wide global canvas -- from India, to Africa (southern, eastern and western), to New Zealand, Russia, UAE, Japan, and the USA. Recently, he was instrumental in steering and turning around, one of the world’s largest (USD 550m) biomass to power project, in Sierra Leone!
Besides being a de facto member of various Company Boards, where he worked; he has been on the Management Boards of two International Schools as well – International School of Lusaka, and British School-New Delhi, during their crucial transitioning stage to IB.
After hanging up his employment boots in 2019, he has focussed on his niche i.e. Turnaround Consultancy, as ‘The Solutionist’; deep-diving and advising businesses, primarily on operations management, cost savings, corporate leadership and human resources.
He is an avid traveller and has a creative streak too – in poetry/music, as well as calling himself a maverick experimental cook! He has written, composed, recorded and published two poetry books under the pen name, Rabbali ‘Ihaka’.
